National informatics Centre, District Unit, Darbhanga has come into being in the year of 1988. This is the one of the Oldest District Centre of NIC. Just after establishment of this unit, start the IT culture in the District Administration. The following work has done by NIC, District Unit, Darbhanga.

District Provident Fund Department has been computerized in 1999. The Master data, Balance data of all employee of the district has entered. The Balance Transfer (BT) data has also entered. The Schedule entry is up-to-date. Now each and every employee of the district is getting the account slip after completion of the financial year.

Data of all the enterprises of Urban and Rural (1269) having nearly 36000 records were entered and data were validated. Data were analysed and reports were handed over to the District Statistical Officer in hard copy as well as soft copy.

Daily Flood/Relief reporting data from all bolocks/villages were collected and various reports were generated for district administration.

The District treasury of Darbhanga was lacking behind to send report to A.G., Ranchi. It was two to three months behind to send the Accounts. The District Magistrate assigned this project to NIC to do the treasury account update. The NIC made a comprehensive system study for the accounting of the treasury and developed Software. Now the District Treasury, Darbhanga has been fully computerized. The SW was taking input from voucher, generate the advice and send it to bank for payment. All the reports like Abstract Payment (Head-Wise), Payment Schedule with all transferee, List of payment, CashBook (Payment), Abstract Receipt (Head-Wise), Receipt Schedule with all transferee, List of receipt and CashBook (Receipt) etc. generated. Monthly account, prepare in the first weak of successive month and send it to A.G.Office Ranchi as well as Finance Department, Government of Bihar, Patna. Beside the above report, Gpf Schedule of Gazetted and Non-Gazetted employee of the district, monthly expenditure report, Gpf advance report (Refundable and Non-refundable) etc. has been generated and send it to the concern department of each and every month for further work.

CNAA (Community Needs Assessment Approach) S/W has been installed in Civil Surgeon Office, Darbhanga. Now the Data is being entered through this software and send the report to the Patna each month.

A District Profile has been prepared for making the Web Site of Darbhanga district. All the relevant information regarding Darbhanga district is available in this book.

This project has been started since April 2002. Till yet out of 1269 mauza , 914 mauza of Darbhanga district is being entered in computers. All 914 mauza has been printed and to send the Circle Officer for correction, so that online mutation will be started shortly.

STAMINA (Sale Tax Administration Management Information Network Aided) S/W has been installed in Assistant Commissioner, Sale Tax Office, Darbhanga. Day to day work of said department is being done through this software under the supervision of NIC.

Prepare the Database of Maternity Scheme, Old Age Pension Scheme and Family Benefit Scheme. Also prepare the report of said scheme and submit to Assistant Director, Social Security Cell, Darbhanga in hard copy as well as soft copy for further work.

To maintain the records of arm license issued by the District Administration is a very important work. The District administrations have to keep track on issuing the license in term of person and purpose of license. The normal practice is that first the person who want to keep arms with him has to take license from District administration. When the license is issued, the Arms license department has to take entry of the particular license in the register for monitoring. With the request of District administration NIC made a system study and developed the software according to the requirement of District Administration. The arms license monitoring system generated various type of information, which make easy to take decision. This s/w generate the report area wise that the person got the license and not purchased to arms yet. This also generates list of the person who has to renew his license in this month and list of defaulter person who has not renewed his license is due date. This software can generate notice to that defaulter person. It also generated so many statistical reports like area wise particular type of arms available. All these information help the District Administration to take a decision. Time to time all the record is being updated.

All the schemes by minor irrigation wing ministry of water resources, New Delhi, namely Dugwell, Shallow Tubewell, Deep Tubewell, Surface Flow, Surface Lift and Village Schedule Data has been collected, feeded and send to Concern department in soft copy.

The AGMARK (Agriculture Marketing) Software has been installed in Bazar Samiti, Darbhanga Office. Commodity wise all the data entered through this software and prepare the text file and send it Diretorate,Patna, Bihar as well as Delhi trough Internet.

Data bank of personnel was created and maintained. Generate the appointment letter in coded as well as decode of Polling personnel, Patrolling Personnel and Counting personnel using the randomization technique. Prepare the booths list and all relevant reports regarding Election Commission of India. The NIC District Unit, Darhanga was involve the Parliamentary Election- 1999, Assembly Election-2000, Panchayat Election - 2001, MLC Election -2002, Municipal Corporation Election - 2002 and Local Bodiyes MLC Election -2003. Prepare the electoral in Hindi for MLC and Municipal Corporation Election -2002.

Preparation of the Inspection Book of District Certificate Office/Revenue/Nazarat/Ceiling. All the monthly progress report regarding Land Reform, Land Ceiling, District Planning, District Development, District Transport, District Social Security Cell, Welfare and various other department of the District are being prepared.

E-Bail facility is being provided to District Court Darbhanga through the NICNET.

The case related of certificate is being entered in the computer. The list of defaulter of Lonny has prepared through computer in each month. Bank-wise defaulter list, department wise defaulter list has been made through computer and send it to the concern department.

The Panchayat wise list of beneficiaries has been entered in computer in MS Excel of both the schemes. Panchayat wise, Block-wise report prepared and send it to concerned department for forwarding these data to Food and Civil Supply Department, Government of Bihar, Patna in hard copy as well as soft copy. The total numbers of beneficiaries are 38900 and 6578 in Antoyadaya and Annpurna scheme respectively.

Video Conferencing was first conducted between District Court, Darbhanga and District Jail, Darbhanga on 4th October, 2002. Again, it was arranged between the prominent villagers of Govindpur village in Darbhanga District and Hon'able State Minister, Dr. Sanjay Paswan, Ministry of Communication and Information Techonoloy, Government of India, at Bhartiya Nirtya Kala Mandir, Patna during the Ist National Conference on e-Readiness Expectations of Rural Mass.

NIC, District Unit, Darbhanga preapare a software for Primary/Middile School Teacher Transfer on the basis of New Transfer Rule 2002. All the teacher transfer related work has done through this software.

NIC, District Unit, Darbhanga Prepare a village wise school information and submitted it to District Survey Officer for needful and regular transmit the flash information regarding survey. Till yet achieved 97% job of this survey.
